Brands that WOW a nation and live forever


The beauty of some brands is their power to bring back happy memories, “nostalgic brands”…They start with you when you are a kid at school, then you discover them again when you are at university and then in your work envirnoment. They grow with you and you tend to see them adapt to your new requirements every time. Yes many try to copy the product, but they struggle to copy the concept and what the brand itself means to the consumer.


Those same nostalgia brands become even more powerful when they are actually national brands, they bring in together with their nostalgia this intense feeling and attachment to your country…and when your country has witnessed years of war and diaspora this feeling of attachment gets even stronger and makes those national nostalgia brands WOW brands forever.

Whether in those tiny new jars or in the 5Kg huge ones, when people talk about nutella you can see the spark and passion in their eyes! And the passion goes on and on whether when they will tell you how they eat it with a spoon from the jar or about the multiple recipes....Mmmmmm that's a YUMMIE WOW Brand, almost a myth...

One of my WOW brand “cz I discovered I have many” is BIC, I respect this brand with the simple logo simple concept of goods and their high utility with efficiency, I like this contrast and finds it WOW.  
Moreover BIC takes care that quality is excellent colors are true and models easy to accept, therefore designed to integrate our lives in peace or war times, during sports events or school years etc... It’s good to remember that a majority of BIC products are copied from BIC what copiers are looking for is only the WOW nothing else."

What is the WOW brand that has more cash reserve than the US Government??


And the answer is...Apple! I thought I could complete this blog without talking about Apple products but I guess you can't talk about WOW brands without talking about Apple products, talking to consumer it has a very simple portfolio, simple line, simple strategy and yet it answers almost every one of your wishes/needs during the day and night!! And when I say your needs I am talking about 6 months old learning colors and shapes, to kids playing and learning, to teenagers following on their best football teams, or their top star of the moment, and on on you go to every age, phase, type of personality, needs etc... and as Maya puts it, it also looks nice and trendy! WOW that a WOW brand! The ultimate I guess....
